Individualized Care Provided By Expert Clinicians. Mend's doctors of physical therapy treat orthopedic, sports, and pelvic health conditions at clinics in Boulder and Lafayette, Colorado. Every plan of care is built one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy.
MEND provides excellent, superior clinical care for individuals with muscle and joint pain. Every plan of care is built to alleviate pain, improve movement, and return patients to their desired level of activity, using evidence-based treatment. We believe exercise is essential to that recovery for patients of every age, ability, and diagnosis, and that a Doctor of Physical Therapy is uniquely positioned to guide it safely.

Mend Physical Therapy was founded in 2015 by Doctors of Physical Therapy Dr. Jeff Ryg and Dr. Kristin Carpenter after completing their Fellowship training in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy together. The advanced clinical foundation they share continues to guide Mend’s treatment philosophy today—one rooted in exceptional patient communication, accurate diagnosis, and high-level clinical reasoning.
From the beginning, Jeff and Kristin set out to create a physical therapy practice that delivers individualized, evidence-based care for common orthopedic conditions such as spine pain, joint pain, and sports-related injuries. Today, Mend is recognized throughout Boulder County as a first-line provider for musculoskeletal care, offering early access to conservative physical therapy that helps patients recover efficiently, minimize time away from work and recreation, and reduce overall healthcare costs.
Our team continually pursues clinical excellence through mentorship, continuing education, and peer collaboration. What began as a small clinic with two physical therapists tucked into the back of a Boulder fitness studio has grown into two clinic locations across Boulder County, with 12 specialized providers offering care in orthopedics, spine, pelvic health physical therapy, postoperative rehabilitation, and sports medicine.

As Mend has grown, we’ve expanded our services to include personal training and group exercise classes led by physical therapists. These programs are designed to support individuals of all ages and ability levels, including those with complex medical or orthopedic histories, providing evidence-based exercise programming focused on health, performance, and longevity—guided by licensed medical professionals every step
of the way.
Patients come to Mend for optimal outcomes in fewer visits or as a second opinion when other treatments plans stall. Here’s what recovery actually looked like for them.
