Dr. Lucas Glomb is a residency-trained, board-certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) at Mend Physical Therapy’s Boulder location, specializing in ACL recovery, knee pain, and helping athletes get back to their sport after injury or surgery. He works with patients at every stage of recovery, from the first days after surgery to the final steps of building strength and getting back to running, hiking, skiing, and competitive sports. Lucas is one of Boulder’s go-to providers for ACL recovery and complicated knee injuries.
Lucas’s interest in sports physical therapy grew from his own background as a collegiate football and baseball athlete. He attended St. John’s University before earning his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Regis University. After graduating, Lucas worked in a busy sports medicine clinic, where he focused on ACL recovery, sports injuries, and strength training. He later completed a year-long residency in orthopedic physical therapy, sharpening his skills in figuring out exactly what’s causing a patient’s pain and how to fix it.
Lucas takes a hands-on, well-rounded approach to physical therapy, built on a strong foundation of manual therapy and strength training. Having gone through his own knee surgery, he understands firsthand what it feels like to face a long recovery — both physically and mentally. His approach focuses on gradually building strength, moving well, and helping patients feel confident again in their bodies. While he treats a wide range of issues including back pain, neck pain, and shoulder injuries, he especially enjoys working with ACL injuries, knee pain, and athletes working their way back to sport.
Lucas combines hands-on treatment with a workout plan built specifically for each patient, to help restore movement, build strength, and get the body working efficiently again. His treatment may include hands-on joint and spine work, plus trigger point dry needling, paired with progressive strength training and drills that prepare patients for the specific demands of their sport. He looks at the whole body, not just the injury site, to help patients get lasting results and lower their risk of getting hurt again.
Lucas works with patients of all ages and activity levels, from people trying physical therapy for the first time to competitive athletes recovering from injury. His goal is to make sure every patient understands their plan, knows what progress looks like, and feels confident managing their own recovery all the way back to full activity.
Outside the clinic, Lucas enjoys exploring Colorado with his wife, daughter, and their golden retriever, Sully. His interests include fly fishing, backpacking, strength training, and following college and professional football.
